The Vokey SM10 arrived in early 2024 as a thoughtful evolution of the SM9, and it quickly became the most played wedge on the PGA Tour -- even by players not contractually obligated to carry Titleist equipment. That kind of organic adoption tells you everything you need to know about how these wedges perform. With the SM11 now available, the SM10 has started appearing at reduced prices in some shops, which makes it one of the smartest buys in the wedge category right now.

First Impressions
The SM10 is available in three finishes: Tour Chrome, Jet Black, and Nickel. All three look clean and modern while retaining the classic Vokey identity that players have trusted for years. The back of the club is minimalist and streamlined, avoiding the busy appearance that some competitors lean into.
At address, the SM10 sits beautifully behind the ball. The head is compact and player-preferred without being intimidating. The slightly rounded leading edge inspires confidence, and the shaping flows naturally from the hosel through the toe. For golfers playing blade or compact cavity-back irons, the SM10 blends into the bag perfectly.
Sound & Feel
From the very first strike, the feel of the SM10 stands out. The face is soft and responsive, delivering excellent feedback on every shot. Around the greens and on delicate chips, the club produces a controlled sensation that makes it easy to gauge how much speed you are putting into the ball.

The feel is premium without being artificially soft. These are cast wedges, like every Vokey, so you do not get that forged buttery sensation from a Mizuno or Cleveland. But the feedback is superb -- you always know whether you caught it clean or slightly off. On full swings, the impact feels solid and stable, with a confident crack that confirms good contact. The overall weight and balance through the swing feel dialed in, giving you control on both aggressive full swings and finesse shots around the green.
If there is one minor knock, it is that a few golfers may find the SM10 slightly heavier than competing wedges. I noticed it initially but adapted within a round or two, and the extra heft actually helps with tempo on partial shots.

Titleist focused on optimizing CG placement across the loft range with the SM10. Higher-lofted wedges have a higher CG, promoting lower launch with more spin -- the ideal trajectory for scoring shots. On full shots, spin rates consistently exceeded 10,000 rpm with a well-struck ball, producing that satisfying check-and-stop action on receptive greens. On partial shots -- half swings, three-quarter pitches -- the spin remained remarkably consistent, giving me confidence to attack pins knowing the ball would behave predictably.
A localized heat treatment on the impact area doubles groove durability, which is a meaningful benefit given how quickly wedge grooves typically wear down. After several months of regular play and practice, my SM10 grooves still feel sharp and the spin numbers have held up.
Dispersion & Shot Shape
The SM10 lineup offers more than 25 loft-and-bounce combinations, ranging from 46 to 62 degrees, with six grind options (F, S, M, D, K, and T). That level of customization is unmatched in the wedge market and underscores why a professional fitting is essential. The difference between the right grind and the wrong one for your swing and conditions is enormous.

Shot versatility is excellent. With the right grind, you can flight the ball low and running, open the face for a high floater, or play anything in between. Turf interaction is clean and predictable -- the SM10 slides through grass and sand without grabbing or digging, provided you are matched to the appropriate bounce for your angle of attack.
From the bunker, performance is outstanding. The K grind offers a wide, forgiving sole for golfers who need help getting out of sand consistently, while the M and T grinds provide the versatility to open the face and play creative shots from various lies.
Verdict
The Titleist Vokey SM10 is a premium wedge that delivers on every metric that matters: feel, spin, control, and versatility. It is the most played wedge on tour for a reason, and that performance translates directly to amateur golfers who get properly fitted.
The stock shaft -- Vokey's proprietary wedge flex -- is one area where I wish Titleist had offered something more premium out of the box. Competitors like KBS Tour or Dynamic Gold Tour Issue shafts feel a step up, though custom shaft options are available.
With the SM11 now on the market, the SM10 represents an exceptional value play. The performance differences between the two generations are incremental -- meaningful for elite players chasing every possible edge, but subtle enough that most golfers will be perfectly well-served by the SM10 at a lower price. If you find a set on sale, it is one of the best wedge values available.
