Under Par Reviews (“we,” “us,” underparreviews.com) is an independent golf gear review publication. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
Information You Provide
Account information. You can browse every review on this site without an account. If you create an account — with an email address and password, or by signing in with Google — we store your email address and display name so you can rate products, leave comments, and vote on whether reviews were helpful. When you sign in with Google, we request only your basic profile information (name and email address) through Google’s standard sign-in scopes. We never see your Google password, and we do not access any other Google account data.
Comments and ratings. Comments, product ratings, and helpful votes you submit are stored with your account and displayed publicly alongside your display name.
Newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address and use it only to send you the newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes your address from our list.
Information Collected Automatically
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors come from, and what devices they use. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors; see Google’s privacy policy for how Google processes this data.
Retailer link clicks. When you click a “Check Price” link to a retailer, we log which review and retailer the click came from so we can understand which reviews are useful. These logs are not tied to your account or identity.
Preferences. Your light/dark theme choice is stored in your browser’s local storage and never leaves your device.
How We Use Information

- To reply when you contact us
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or golf equipment manufacturers. We share data only with the service providers that run this site (below), and only as needed to operate it.
Service Providers
The site runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Account authentication is handled by AWS Cognito, sign-in with Google by Google, site analytics by Google Analytics, and newsletter delivery by AWS. Each provider processes data on our behalf under its own security and privacy commitments.
Affiliate Links
Some retailer links are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission on purchases at no cost to you. Once you leave our site, the retailer’s own privacy policy applies. See our Editorial Policy for how affiliate revenue is kept separate from our reviews.
Data Retention & Deletion
Account data is kept while your account exists. To delete your account and its associated data — or to unsubscribe, correct, or request a copy of your data — email us at troy@underparreviews.com and we will handle it promptly.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
